This website was created on behalf of my new dwarf hamster "Arnold." I haven't owned a hamster
for about ten years now so the whole experience seems new and exciting again. I remember begging my mom to buy me a
hamster when I was younger. It took me days of begging non-stop and promissing to take care of it once I had it.
It turns out that my mom was right all along. I was excited about the hamster (named Ratty) for
about 2 weeks until I found something else to do with my time. The poor hamster did not get all the attention he deserved.
Although he was somewhat neglected, he was a good hamster.
Back in the days of my youth (
I won't go in to detail on how far back) dwarf hamsters were not in pet stores yet. The Hamsters that were available,
and which are still sold at pet stores today, were Syrian hamsters. Syrian hamsters are larger than dwarf hamsters,
and I have also heard that they are more domesticated than dwarf hamsters because they have been pets for longer
than dwarf hamsters have. Dwarf hamsters are said to be more aggressive and meant for older owners.
With this information in mind I decided to venture out
and try something new. This website will mainly be about me and my new dwarf hamster "Arnold." I will also include
some information about dwarf hamsters that I researched before getting Arnold. I hope this website is interesting and
informative for whoever decides to look at it. Have fun!

What's New?
Here are just some weekly Arnold updates
07/23/05--This
is the day that I brought Arnold home from Petland, he was very scared on the way home. He was trying to chew through
the take home box. I think he's gonna be a fiesty one!
07/25/05--Arnold has been a good boy since I brought him home except for today!!
The little bugger bit me!! I think he's a little grouchy today so I decided to leave him alone....Maybe I should have
named him Oscar the Grouch!
8/01/05 --Arnold has been a good boy recently, there have been no more biting incidents
so far. I think he was just grouchy the other day. I cleaned his cage on Saturday and he was the happiest
dwarf hamster in town, he was diving into his bedding and then coming back up with it all over his face, he was a crack
up!
08/14/05 -- Arnold is getting really fat! He looks really cute though, he's like a little
fur ball running around. I think I need to put him on a diet and have him exercise more cuz he's getting lazy.
